FAQ's - Surcharges

For Worldwide Parcel Services to ensure that you get the best rates, we need to ensure that the parcels you send are within the correct parameters. Subsequently, if you under-declare weights or dimensions, whether it is by accident or intentionally, surcharges will apply. If you enter the correct weights and sizes any surcharges applicable will be included in the quote. Let’s answer some important questions...

What surcharges apply to the UK Pallet option?

The maximum weight is 1000kg, length 120cm, width 100cm and height 200cm. The price will double plus £20 administration charge will apply if these criteria are exceeded. Please email [email protected] for a quote if you require this service.

What surcharges apply to all other shipments?

Any custom duties/taxes applied to your shipment are NEVER included in our quotes, and if charged to our account will be charged to the customer with a 15% admin charge (minimum charge £15) added.

DHL and WPS services

Parcels over 117cm on WPS European, WPS Air Express and DHL It Now have an £95.00 surcharge, which is built into the quote as long as you declare the correct sizes.
Parcels over 70 kilos incur a £100.00 surcharge, which is built into the charge as long as you declare the correct weight.
Parcels over 70 kilos must be palletised. When booking there is a tick box that says "my pallet is stackable". If your pallet is stackable, i.e. it is a solid square shape or is not too fragile to be stacked  upon you should tick the box and the price will reduce by £195.00 ex vat. If you do this and DHL deem your pallet non-stackable you will be retrospectively charged £195 plus £20 admin fee.
Maximum length is 230cm.

AMI UPS

Parcels over 150cm on UPS Standard Euro and UPS Express Saver will incur a surcharge of £3.50, which is built into the charge as long as you declare the correct sizes. Parcels over 30 kilos will incur a £3.50 surcharge built into the quote as long as you declare the correct weight.
The maximum length is 180cm, maximum girth is 400cm with a surcharge of £125 if the girth exceeds 325cm, which is included in the quote if you declare the correct sizes.

DPD

Maximum length is 100cm. maximum weight is 30 kilos. Maximum girth is 200cm. A £50 surcharge will apply if you exceed any of these criteria, and your parcel may be delayed or returned.

What happens when there is an under-declaration of weight or size of parcels?

If you under-declare the weight or size of your parcel you will be charged the difference between the charge that you should have made based on our website price and the payment you actually made. You will also be charged an additional £50 admin fee. If we have possession of your parcel at the time of the under declaration, your parcel will be held until the additional payment is made. If you do not pay in 28 days, WPS will dispose of your goods. In this event, you will not receive a refund and cannot claim compensation even if you have taken our additional cover as this will be deemed null and void as per our terms and conditions. Some parcels may be returned if they exceed the sizes allowed and no refund will be given in this instance.

What is girth?

Girth is the longest side plus 2 x the each of the other 2 sides.
Calculation = L x (2xw) +(2xh) cm = girth in cm (for purposes of girth calculation L is longest side).
Other additional surcharges include...

WPS reserve the right to repackage any parcel deemed unfit to go through the network at a cost of £10 for each parcel.

If you need to change the collection or delivery address, there may be a charge of £10.
