Customs & Duty When Sending To Malaysia

It is important to know what you can and can't send before attempting. In particular, Malaysia has a strict ban on illicit drugs such as marijuana, heroin and morphine, and in order to send prescribed drugs, you need a licence issued by the Ministry of Health, Malaysia.

Other prohibited goods include:

  • Knives and daggers
  • Pens and pencils
  • Goods that look like syringes
  • Indecent or pornographic material of any description
  • Counterfeit money
  • Chemicals that are poisonous
  • Cloth with prints or duplicates of verses from the Quran
  • Radio receivers capable of reading the ranges (68-87) MHz and (108-174) MHz
  • Anything that is unsuited with peace or is prejudicial to Malaysia’s interests
  • Sodium arsenate
  • Some forms of liquor

Additionally, these are some of the goods you need an import licence or permit to send:

  • Imitation or toy guns and firearms
  • Imitation explosives
  • Fireworks and other explosives
  • Body armour or clothing that serves as protection against attack, such as bulletproof vests
  • Safety helmets, including motorcycle helmets
  • Motor vehicles
  • Home brewing equipment
  • Radio communication equipment that operates at a lower frequency than 3000 GHz
  • Arms and ammunition
  • Outdoor parabola antenna

For more information on prohibited items, have a look at our Worldwide Parcels guide here and at this page on the Royal Malaysian Customs Department website.

When you book with us, we'll send you all the forms you need to fill out and attach to your package so that it easily gets through Malaysian customs.

I’ve used this service twice abd each…

I’ve used this service twice abd each time the website tells me how long I’ve got for a collection on the day I’ve placed the order. I’ve placed the order and immediately been told it’s too late for a collection! This means my collection has to be rescheduled or I take it to a local drop off point. I’d rather they were honest when placing the order. Apart from that Theresa in the office is most helpful, the pricing is very competitive and things have been delivered internationally successfully.

Best service ever

Best service ever. Been sending parcels to my son in USA for 22 years with various other companies. Sometimes problematic with delays and losses. No issues , no delays,no excuses. Just great service. What they say is what you get. Well done !!
